Hello, world
This is the first post on my site, so it feels right to explain what this space is for.
I'm not planning to write tutorials or career advice. There's enough of that. What I want to write about are the things I find interesting while working: decisions that were harder than they looked, tradeoffs that didn't have a clean answer, things I learned by breaking something, and the occasional idea that's been sitting in my head long enough that writing it down seems like the only way to clear it.
What I'm working on now
At the moment I'm finishing an MSc in Advanced Computer Science at Queen Mary. The academic work has pulled me toward areas I didn't spend much time in as a practitioner — probabilistic reasoning, machine learning, formal methods. Some of it is directly applicable. Some of it is just interesting.
On the side I'm building a few things: mostly backend systems, occasionally something more data-heavy.
A note on format
Posts here will be short. If I can say something in 300 words, I won't stretch it to 1000 for the appearance of depth. I find long posts useful when the complexity genuinely demands it, and padding otherwise.
If anything I write is useful to you, or if you disagree with something, I'd be happy to hear from you. My email is on the contact page.
